Violin – Andy Didorenko
A New York-based violinist and composer Andrii Didorenko was born in Dnipro, Ukraine, to a family of professional violinists. He took his first violin lessons with his parents and made his debut with an orchestra at the age of 10. He earned his graduate and postgraduate degrees from Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory and appeared as a soloist with Moscow Symphony Orchestra and Moscow Camerata Chamber Orchestra.
From 1999 to 2004, Andrii lived in Taiwan where he taught, performed, and debuted as a composer.Since moving to New York in 2006, he has performed regularly as a soloist and chamber. Andrii is also a leader of a contemporary rock fusion ensemble, Lost World Band, which has released several critically acclaimed albums. Since the start of the war, he has written several pieces inspired by Ukrainian folk music and participated in many fundraising events to aid Ukraine
Bass – Eiki Matsumoto
After experiencing the successful music activities, Eiki moved to New York in early 90’s. He joined many local group then, became a noted bassist in the progressive rock field. In late 90’s, he had changed his carrier dramatically to the financial/commodity market industry as a trader and a strategist. He’s come back to the music after 2010, now he enjoys the dual life between a bassist and a trader, going back and forth between New York and Japan.
His music style is a versatile, kind of multi player from the electric strings instrumental to the piano/synthesizer. He loves classical music, rock, funk and jazz/fusion. On this album, he composed and arranged all song and produced.
Drums – Kenny Grohowski
Over the last couple of decades, based in NY, Kenny has worked within the music industry as a drummer, percussionist, arranger, and song writer/composer. He’s been fortunate enough to work with multitudes of artists in multiple fields and genres of music, as well as some pretty cool bands of varying degrees of notoriety. He joined to the legendary British jazz-rock band “Brand X” as a tour member, several projects of well-known NY based composer, John Zorn, and currently tours with an experimental metal band “Imperial Triumphant” all over the world.
A few of them are some of the more forward-thinking musicians in the fields of Jazz, Classical, Metal, Rock, and only on a day like this - regardless of the actual day - can one look back in awe of the path travelled and circumstances traversed. This is something, among a limitless amount of other things, we all have in common.
Guitar - Alex Machacek
Born and raised in Austria, Alex Machacek started taking classical guitar lessons at the age of 8 for 6 years. Later on he studied Jazz Guitar and Jazz Education at the Conservatory of Vienna and holds a Masters degree.
He also attended Berklee College of Music in Boston for two semesters.
1998 he won the European Guitar Competition “Guitar Newcomer 98”.
In 2004 he moved to Los Angeles and since then he has worked with the “who is who” of the fusion scene:
Terry Bozzio, Virgil Donati, Marco Minnemann, Chad Wackerman, Mike Mangini, Matt Garrison, Scott Kinsey, Jimmy Johnson, Jimmy Earl, Kai Eckhardt, Eddie Jobson, Patrick O’Hearn, Jeff Sipe, Gary Novak, CAB, Trey Gunn, Planet X, UK, Brand X, John Wetton, Gary Husband to name a few…
From 2006 - 2013 he taught at GIT, Hollywood. He also conducted numerous workshops/clinics all over the world and wrote guest columns for “Guitar Player Magazine” and “Premier Guitar”.
Alex has released 10 CDs and one DVD as a leader, most of them on the prestigious Abstract Logix label.
Additionally he released an educational DVD for Lick Library and many lessons on MyMusicMasterclass.
His label mate John McLaughlin said after listening to his US debut CD “[sic]”:
“Alex Machacek’s music starts where other music ends.”
Guitar – Shinkuro Matsuura
Shinkuro is a guitar player based in Osaka Japan. He joined the workshop of Robert Fripp, leader of “King Crimson” and stretched out of his music ability. In 2006, he toured around Italy, Spain and Portugal with Mr. Fripp as a member of “League of Crafity Gutarists”, then made a US tour in following year.
He is a leader of Osaka based Prog-Funk Band “Shinkuro” and released album in 2019. Not only with “Shinkuro”, he also makes energetic activity with some guitar units and/or solo project, performing both of electric and acoustic guitar.
